Research has shown that levels of Oxytocin are increased which promotes a higher sense of calm and wellbeing. We have definitely experienced this ourselves as Clover or Willow has changed moods into happy, positive ones, even those that have refused to come out of their rooms or refused to communicate have made wonderful friends with Clover or Willow  whilst they was there.
